CONCORD, N.H. (AP) Senate Democratic Leader Dan Feltes says he will decide by the end of the summer whether to run for governor.

Feltes, who is in his third term, told supporters Thursday he is strongly considering seeking the Democratic nomination to challenge Republican Gov. Chris Sununu. A former legal aid lawyer from Concord, Feltes highlighted his work to address the state's mental health, child protection and opioid addiction crises, and said his campaign would be about standing up for everyday people and building an economy that works for everyone.

Democratic Executive Councilor Andru Volinsky also is exploring a run for governor.
