HAMPTON — Registrations are currently being accepted for this year’s NFL Flag Football league program, offered through the Hampton Parks and Recreation Department. Sign-ups can be easily and securely completed online at hamptonrec.recdesk.com.
Boys and girls in grades 3-5 and 6-8, as well as those in high school, are invited to take part in this highly popular program. Weekly practices begin in mid-August, with league play on Saturdays through mid-November at Lew Brown Park and Tuck Field. The season will conclude with playoffs and the official “Hampton Super Bowl and Tailgate Party” event.
Sponsored by the National Football League, this program provides players with a fun and exciting opportunity to engage in non-contact, continuous action while learning lessons on teamwork, sportsmanship, dedication and discipline. It is a fun and safe way for participants and their families to enjoy the game of football.
In addition, adult volunteer coaches are needed and are encouraged to contact the recreation office to find out more about coaching a team.
The current cost for this program is $80 per person ($100 for sign-ups after July 16) and includes a reversible team jersey. The final deadline to register is August 1. An additional NFL form at www.nflflag.com/parents is also required to complete the registration process. For more information call (603) 926-3932.
