YORK - York Public Library’s highly anticipated annual book sale will be held this year on Friday, July 12 and Saturday, July 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.

Locals and visitors alike enjoy this sale as an inexpensive way to stock up on summer reading, fill book shelves of rental houses, and provide kids with a way to keep busy on those terminally long car rides into and out of Maine.

This year’s sale will feature a variety of titles from a diverse mix of writers, including but not limited to classic favorites Stephen King, John LeCarre, Patricia Cornwell, and John Grisham as well as popular contemporary authors such as Ruth Ware and Sarah Dessen. Every genre is represented in the sale this year, including a wide selection of Young Adult/Fantasy, literary fiction, and children’s books. Nonfiction lovers, have no fear. There will be plenty of titles to choose from in memoir, history, politics and beyond.

A raffle of 2019’s bestsellers and most requested titles will be held on July 9. Tickets may be purchased at the main desk upstairs prior to the book sale and then at the book sale up until noon on Saturday, July 13, when the winning ticket will be pulled.

The library will continue to accept donations for the sale in the craft area of the Children’s Room during regular library hours until Saturday, July 6. Donations must be in “very good” condition, no damage, mildew, or odors. Of particular interest are current fiction, audio books, jigsaw puzzles (with all the pieces), and children’s books.
