PORTSMOUTH — The city and the Lions Club will join forces at the annual fireworks celebration on Wednesday, July 3 to collect donations for Gather food pantry.
There will be two drop-off locations for non-perishable food and personal care items: the corner of Junkins Avenue and Parrott Avenue, and the entrance to Leary Field on Rockland Street.
Gather food pantry, based in Portsmouth, is the largest hunger organization on the Seacoast and was founded in 1816. The organization provides meals to seniors, children and anyone who requires their services in Greenland, Hampton, Hampton Falls, Kittery, Maine, New Castle, Newington, North Hampton, Portsmouth, Rye, Seabrook and Stratham.
The city of Portsmouth and Wilcox Industries will once again sponsor the annual fireworks display on Wednesday night at South Mill Pond beginning at 9:15 p.m. The display's rain date is July 5 at the same time.
