PORTSMOUTH — The Police Department will host the U.S. Police Canine Association Police Dog Certification Trials this weekend and the public is invited.

The K-9 teams will be judged in agility, obedience, suspect searches and suspect apprehension. The event is Saturday and Sunday, June 28-29 starting at 8 a.m. at Portsmouth High School. The event is free and, while anyone is invited, pets are not.

"This is a great opportunity for citizens to watch some of the top K-9 teams in New England compete in one of the nation’s toughest certification processes," police announced.

Donations will be accepted to benefit the USPCA Region 4.  If you are unable to attend, but would like to make a donation, visit uspca4.com/index.htm.
