June 27 — To the Editor:
The next time a road or bridge collapses just remember how much fix-it money is being spent to feed, clothe, shelter and doctor the illegal immigrants flooding our southern border. I read that they're crossing at the rate of about 2,200 per day. Someone has to foot the bill for all this humanitarian aid, and the costs grow daily. There will never be work for that many unschooled Spanish speakers so for most, these costs will continue for the rest of their lives.
Our elected senators and representatives must decide whether this is the very best use of taxpayer dollars and act accordingly. As I've said before, absolutely nothing is free.
