AUGUSTA — Rep. Patty Hymanson, D-York, was presented with the “2019 Public Policy Leadership Award” by the Maine Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics at a ceremony at the Senator Inn in Augusta on Thursday.
“I am very thankful for this award, it means a lot to me,” said Hymanson. “On the Health and Human Services Committee, we try to create systems to help Maine people maintain their health. Nutrition is a critical part of that.”
Hymanson received the award in recognition of her leadership, expertise and support on nutrition-related bills in the last legislative session. Her nomination was unanimously approved by MAND.
Hymanson is serving her third term in the House of Representatives and serves as House chair of the Health and Human Services Committee. She represents Ogunquit, and parts of Sanford, Wells and York.
