DOVER – Portsmouth Christian Academy has announced that PCA Senior Kathryn Komerska is the grand prize winner of PCA’s 7 th Annual Auction Art Contest. Her piece "Pleasant Afternoon" is a whimsical depiction, in warm and acrylic tones, of a summer BBQ, portraying the generosity, love, and enjoyment of a family feast.
An Artists’ Reception, open to the public, will be held on March 15 at 3:30 p.m. in the PCA gym lobby, to honor all of the winners of the juried art contest associated with PCA’s 24th Annual Auction. With 85 submissions, the Art Contest represents a significant element of PCA’s 24th Annual Auction. The Artists’ Reception represents the kick-off for bidding on all art, and will continue throughout the Live Auction the following day, March 16, with doors open at 8 a.m. Art and other items up for bid can be previewed online at https://501auctions.com/pca2019.
All auction activities are open to the public.
The theme of this year’s Auction – "The Bountiful Table: Sowing, Harvesting, Feasting" – represents a literal celebration of farm to table as well as the abundance of spirit within the PCA community. All art is available for bidding alongside garden and antique furniture sets; themed class gifts that feature gardening, cooking, and grilling; Red Sox game tickets; an Orlando get-away; and much much more.
