YORK BEACH – In a continuing series of fundraisers to benefit the communities they serve, 1652 Restaurant in York Beach is hosting its second Community Night to benefit York Hospital. Join them on Wednesday, March 20 from 4 to 9 p.m., at 1 Ocean Avenue, York Beach, for a three course Italian dinner to benefit the Older Adult House Calls Program at York Hospital, supported by The Hancock Fund for Healthy Aging.

The Older Adult House Calls Program addresses the needs of older adults who are temporarily unable to see their primary care doctor because of a change in their medical condition. A geriatrics nurse practitioner will make home visits and work closely with the primary care physician and community agencies to assess and manage health needs that may be safely managed at home until the person has stabilized and can return to their doctor’s office. The goal is to provide medical care in the home where the patient wants to be and to recommend the safest environment for care. Older Adult House Call referrals are made through a patient’s primary provider office, York Hospital Walk-in or Emergency Department.

Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, Erin Morgan, and Katie Dodge, Director of Rehab Services, will speak at 7 p.m. about the program, the process and their outreach — in an effort to create an interdisciplinary patient-care team for our ever-growing community of older adults. Guests may enjoy an authentic Italian three-course meal — including an appetizer, entrée and dessert — for $25 per person. 1652’s regular menu will also be available. Reservations are recommended; please call the team at 1652 today at 207-606-0356.
