PORTSMOUTH – On Wednesday, March 20, at 7:30 p.m., Generic Theater hosts the Active Retirement Association’s Stagecraft Group in a reading of a D. M. Larson play, "Nobody’s Famous," at the Players’ Ring, 105 Marcy St., Portsmouth. For information, call 603-436-8123 or visit www.playersring.org. This reading is free and open to the public.
Over the years the Durham based group has transitioned from simply reading plays to reading and then discussing a play’s direction, time period, characters and characterizations. They describe "Nobody Famous" as "a silly little play suitable, perhaps, for high schoolers, both fun and challenging to dissect and discuss." In Larson’s play, several characters visit a fortune teller -- who may be a fraud or may be lucky at picking lottery numbers -- and the antics that ensue.
ARA says, “We have had fun working with the play and look forward to presenting it to the audience and any discussion afterward that our reading provokes.”
