RYE — A fire in a mobile home Friday afternoon was quickly contained and the family living in it will not be displaced.
Fire Chief Mark Cotreau said his department was toned at 12:34 p.m. with a report of a mobile home fire at 4 Adams Park.
"When we arrived, we found a small fire on the roof of the home," said Cotreau. "There had been a roofer out there doing some work. It was a little tough to work there as the units are located pretty tightly together."
Cotreau said the fire was handled easily and there were no injuries to the family or to firefighters.
"There are some minor repairs needed to the roof," said Cotreau. "The family will be staying in the home. We were really fortunate that it worked out as well as it did for everyone."
Cotreau said that because of the potential for a worse situation in a mobile home, mutual aid was called and came from North Hampton, Portsmouth, Greenland and Kittery. Station coverage was handled by Greenland and Seabrook, said the chief.
