SANFORD — The sister duo, Art For The HeArt by AnJill and Serenity, will be displaying their artwork at Goodall Memorial Library during the month of January. A Meet the Artist event is scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m. on Jan. 12. Come ask the duo questions about their art and inspiration. Refreshments will be available.
AnJill and Serenity are natives of Maine. They draw, sketch and paint all by freehand. They offer commission pieces that range from family portraits and beloved pets to anime and favorite quotes. Winter Reading Challenge for Adults and Young Adults started Jan. 2. During the months of January, February and March, read five books, and complete a brief review form for each one. Forms will be entered into a drawing for a special prize, winner drawn March 29. Participants may read whatever they choose, but a list of staff favorites will be provided for those in search of something different to read. If participants read a book on the list they will receive two entries. Enjoy the challenge, and our beautiful winter here in Maine, and visit the library whenever weather permits.
