PORTSMOUTH — Cross Roads House announced the promotion of Jessica Parker from development and marketing manager to development director.
Parker will oversee all development activities including fundraising, marketing and donor relations.
Parker has more than 15 years’ experience working in higher education and nonprofit settings. She has been working at Cross Roads House since 2013. Before that, she served as volunteer coordinator for New Generation. She has extensive experience in fundraising, event planning, grant writing, marketing and graphic design. Parker received her bachelor of science in communications from Emerson College.
“Jessica has been a valuable member of our development team for over five years,” said Martha Stone, executive director. “We are excited that she’s accepted this promotion and will be an integral part of planning and executing our future fundraising initiatives. Cross Roads House relies heavily on private giving so it’s critical that we have the talent and dedication that Jessica brings to our organization to help us achieve our goals.”
Parker said she is looking forward to the new challenge.
“I’m always in awe of the tremendous support this community shows for the critical services that Cross Roads House provides,” she said. “I’m honored to work for an organization that has a positive impact on the lives of so many people.”
Parker is a member of the Portsmouth Rotary Club. She lives in Newmarket with her husband Kevin and son Connor.
Last year, Cross Roads House, a 100-plus bed shelter provided 35,535 bed nights of shelter to 515 people including 36 families with 63 children. Volunteers prepared and served nearly 23,000 evening meals. Cross Roads House is open and staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. An array of supportive services and programs are available onsite.
