Jan. 8 — To the Editor:

For those of you who were at last night’s public hearing on the McIntyre project but left during the break, the Council did have a brief discussion to express their response to what they had heard. Mayor Blalock posed the question “How can we show the public that we are listening?” The answer was to create a 3D model and have another presentation, this time at the Library. As they see it the core problem is that the public is in opposition because we are misinformed. Oops! The correct way to show you are listening, Mayor Blalock, is to fire Michael Kane. Instead of starting with the developer and trying to convince the public he knows what’s good for us, start over again with a vision that reflects the public interest and find a way to make that happen.
