The Kennebunk High boys and girls swimming and diving teams defeated their Windham opponents on Friday at the Northern York County YMCA pool in Biddeford.
The boys topped the Eagles, 97-62, while the girls bested the Eagles, 93-47.
The Rams had first-place efforts from Ella Yentsch (girls 200 free, girls 500 free), Jason Albaum (boys 200 free, boys 100 fly), Grace Soucy (girls 200 IM, girls 100 back), Grace Thompson (girls 50 free), Toby Macedo (boys 50 free, boys 100 back), Taylor Nguyen (girls 1-meter diving), Aiden Ward (boys 1-meter diving), Grace Girard (girls 100 free), Josh Erickson-Harris (boys 100 free), Zach Matthews (boys 500 free), and Ashley Robinson (girls 100 breast).
In addition the Kennebunk relay teams picked up wins in the girls 200 medley (Kaia Wirth, Soucy, Girard and Thompson), boys 200 medley (Macedo, Erickson-Harris, Albaum and Matthews), girls 200 free (Caroline Lowery, Wirth, Nina Sharp and Yentsch), and the boys 200 free (Gabe Ramundo, Nick Albaum, Alex Miale and Erickson-Harris).
Kennebunk swom coach Andrew Coulombe is expecting strong results this year from returning seniors Grace Soucy, Taylor Nguyen, Grace Thompson, and Caroline Lowery, juniors Grace Girard and Ella Yentsch, and sophomores Ashley Robinson and Nina Sharp.
One the boys side the returners are seniors Jason Albaum and Colby Ellis, juniors Toby Macedo, Zach Matthews, Josh Erickson-Harris, Perran Trentalange, and Laszlo Toth, along with sophomores Aiden Ward, Robin Gorham and Jon Brooks.
Newcomers to the team who should do well include freshmen Kaia Wirth, Camilla Rawlings and Rowan Pow on the girls side and freshman Alec Midgley for the boys.
"We hope to be competitive at both the Southwesterns and State Championship (meets) this year," said Coulombe. "We have been working hard and look to be doing our best swimming and diving at the end of the season."
