20th annual Seacoast Christmas Concert Dec. 21
Seacoast musical artists Joyce Andersen and Harvey Reid will perform their 20th annual Seacoast Christmas Concert on Friday, Dec. 21 at the Community Church of Durham, 17 Main St., Durham. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 on day of the show, $10 for students, children 8 and under are free. York High to hold second Holiday Concert Dec. 30
The YHS Music Program will present the second of its two annual Choral Holiday Concerts on Thursday, Dec. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the York Community Auditorium at the high school. The concert, under the direction of Rob Westerberg and UNH Intern Emma Donahue with accompanist Deborah Clough, will include performances by the YHS Honors Treble Choir, Chorus and Chamber Singers. The program will involve over 110 singers performing a varied set of choral literature. There is no admission fee, and doors will open at 7 p.m.
Sredzienski's 11th annual Charity Swim and Concert
On Saturday, Jan. 5, Gary “Creekman” Sredzienski will gear up for the 11th Annual Charity Swim and Benefit Concert to benefit the Seacoast Charter School. The swim will be in the Bellamy River at 2 p.m. leaving from the Scammell Bridge. The Benefit Concert and Dinner Party will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dover City Hall, 288 Central Ave., Dover. Abstraction of Art classes to begin
Local artist Bess Cutler will be teaching “Abstraction of Art Classes: Go Beyond the Literal” in four sessions in January. The classes will be Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. beginning Thursday Jan. 10. The class will cost $125 and will be held at Art on the Hill in Kittery. 'A Christmas Carol' continues
It's the last weekend to catch the classic holiday play “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens at the Rochester Opera House through Sunday, Dec. 23. Local artists’ work displayed at library
York Public Library, in conjunction with York Art Association, is featuring an exhibition titled “Local Artists at Work,” on display throughout the library through Jan. 31, 2019. A collection of 60 pieces representing more than 25 YAA members’ work is on exhibit. The collection consists of oil and watercolor paintings, as well as fabric mosaics and pencil renditions.
