YORK Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America will be holding a new member meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at the York Public Library, 15 Long Sands Road, York, Maine.

The meeting is from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and will provide information on the origins of the movement, as well as explaining how people can become involved in advocating for stronger laws and policies that reduce gun violence and save lives.

Michele Meyer, running for state representative from House District 2, will be speaking and answering questions. She has been recognized by Moms Demand Action as a Candidate of Distinction for her willingness to support closing loopholes in the background check system, promoting gun safety to reduce risks, and creating enforceable laws to keep illegal guns off the streets.

MDA is a non-partisan grassroots movement with over 3.5 million supporters demanding common sense solutions to our country's dangerous culture of gun violence that endangers our children, families and communities.

Information will also be provided on opportunities to become involved in electing Candidates of Distinction running for office this November. For more information, call 207-703-0115.
