PORTSMOUTH — Port City Mopeds and Trigger House will host the fifth annual Welcome East Motorcycle Show Saturday, Sept. 22 at 3S Artspace.

The free show welcomes motorcyclists, enthusiasts and spectators from across New England to showcase their bikes and celebrate motorcycling as a sport, hobby, craft and business.

The show is presented by sponsors Seacoast Harley-Davidson, Concord Triumph and Moat Mountain Smokehouse and Brewing Co.

In 2017, more than 100 motorcycles and their riders packed the 3S art gallery and performance space with their decked out wheels and looks.

The event will be hosted indoors and outdoors, with motorcycles sprawled throughout the venue. Spectators are invited to vote for their favorite motorcycles from 3 to 7:30 p.m., with an awards ceremony at 8 p.m.

A rock ’n roll after-party following the awards will feature the bands These Wild Plains and Arlie. Tacos, beers and spirits will be available from the 3S bar and El Barrio restaurant.

Motorcyclists are encouraged to pre-register their bikes but ride-in and day-of registrations are welcome. Event coordinators are seeking all sorts of entries, including mopeds, scooters, trikes, motorcycles and other unworldly creations. Awards will be given for Best in Show, Best Custom, Best American Bike, Best Moped, Best Rat Bike and many more.

New this year is a party for a cause as all event proceeds will be donated to local nonprofit New Heights to support its youth education and programming.

Local sponsors supporting the event and New Heights include Oomph Salon, Rocket Fuel Only Screenprinting Co. and Ural New England. Local businesses Lost Coast, Grim North Tattoo, and LFOD Apparel will be set up as pop-up vendors, showcasing their goods and services.

Load-in for contestants is from noon to 3:30 p.m. The show is free and open to the public of all ages and there is no entry charge for contestants. To register for the show and for more information, visit www.welcomeeastmoto.com.
