DOVER – Granite State Choral Society will host its fourth annual choral workshop on Saturday, Aug. 4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Portsmouth Christian Academy in Dover. The workshop is open to all interested singers age 14 and older. Learn techniques and skills useful to group singing whether in a small church choir or large community ensemble. All voice parts (STAB) will find this a stimulating and useful day to work on vocal technique, ask questions and learn more about how to achieve the best vocal sound when participating in a choir or small group.

The following instructors will teach at this workshop:

Daniel K. Roihl, Music Director, Granite State Choral Society in Rochester; University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music, D.M.A in Choral Music; Yale School of Music/Institute of Sacred Music, M.M. in Choral Conducting; Harvard University, B.A. in Music.

Dr. Nicolás Dosman, Music Director, South Berwick Community Chorus; D.M.E in Music and Music Education, Teachers College of Columbia University; M.M.E. in Choral Music Education, Florida State University; B.M. in Music Education, Vocal Emphasis, Oberlin College Conservatory of Music.

Melissa Manseau, University of New Hampshire, Lecturer in Theatre and Dance; B.A., University of New Hampshire; M.M., University of Northern Iowa.

Martha Gleason, Martha Gleason Voice Studio, Portsmouth; B.A. in Theatre Arts from UCLA; member, National Association of Teachers of Singing.

Cost for the workshop is $99 and includes all vocal sessions (morning and afternoon), lunch and any materials necessary. Additionally, attendees will receive a 10 percent discount on member dues if they decide to join Granite State Choral Society for the 2018-19 season. Students up to age 22 will receive 50 percent off dues with student verification. Last day to register is Aug. 2.
