July 13 ó To the Editor:

Why does our daily Portsmouth Herald come wrapped in plastic, and is thrown down into the driveway? This happens every day, regardless of weather. Everyone with a subscription to the paper has a delivery tube attached to a mailbox. Why are these not being used? Are we saving 30 seconds? And at what cost in the over use of plastic? Now, when China has already given notice that they will no longer take our plastic for recycling, what becomes of all these bags? We already know a lot of plastic finds its way to the ocean. Seriously, is saving just a moment of the paper delivery personís time worth causing this damaging impact to the planet?
