Last week's photo was Spiller's Restaurant in York Beach. Thanks to Ruth Hiller, Mary O’Brien Spokis, Diana Abbott, Rachel Bennett and George C. Harrington for responding and for sharing their memories.

“I worked there the summers of 1965 and 1966 when I was going into college between my freshman and sophomore years," said Ruth Hiller. "The restaurant was right across the road from Short Sands beach and the wait staff was all college kids so we had fun after hours."

“Spillers restaurant in York Beach Short Sands was my grandmother’s (born in 1884) favorite restaurant," said Mary O’Brien Spokis. "Every summer we would make the trip from Moody Beach to York many times to go to the casino but there was always at least one trip to Spillers for fried clams."
