Sign up for Theatre Games program

HAMPTON – The Hampton Parks and Recreation Department is offering a brand new Theatre Games and Improv program this summer, instructed by award-winning actor and playwright George Hosker-Bouley.

Scheduled for the week of July 30 through August 3, all classes will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at Hobbs House, located at 200 High Street in Hampton.

This new program will offer some old favorite games but will also include a whole set of new crazy games that will challenge everyone's mind, coordination, stamina and sense of humor. Theatre gaming will teach each participant about themselves, building on teamwork to succeed as they travel through an odyssey that includes music, dance and much more.

Sign up now for Flag Football League

HAMPTON – Registrations are currently being accepted for this year’s NFL Flag Football league program, offered through the Hampton Recreation Department. Sign-ups can be easily and securely completed by clicking the “Online Registration” link at

Boys and girls in grades 3-5 and 6-8, as well as those in high school, are invited to take part in this highly popular program, which begins with weekly practices in mid-August and continues with league play on Saturdays or Sundays through mid-November. The season will conclude with playoffs and the official “Hampton Flag Football League Super Bowl” event on Sunday, Nov. 11.

Prior to creating the teams, a ratings clinic will be conducted on Saturday, Aug. 4 at a time and location to be announced at a later date.

Sponsored by the National Football League, this program provides players with a fun and exciting opportunity to engage in non-contact, continuous action while learning lessons on teamwork, sportsmanship, dedication and discipline. It is a fun and safe way for participants and their families to enjoy the game of football.

In addition, adult volunteer coaches are needed and are encouraged to contact Hampton Recreation to find out more about coaching a team.

The cost for this program is $65 per person and includes a reversible team jersey. The deadline to register is Tuesday, July 31. Senior Walking Club seeks members

HAMPTON – Attention Hampton Senior Citizens: Do you like to get out and walk on a daily basis? If so, Hampton Recreation is offering an opportunity to join a great group of like-minded individuals who are passionate about walking.

The Hampton Senior Walking Group gets together six mornings a week, year-round, heading out from the old town hall parking lot on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30 a.m., and from the beach parking lot at the end of High Street on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 8 a.m.

Studies show that the best thing anyone can do for good health is to walk. This group of dedicated walkers takes that seriously, and they have great fun doing so, mile after mile.
