The Historical Society of Wells and Ogunquit will host tours from noon to 3 p.m. on the following Thursdays: September 29, October 6, October 13, October 20, and October 27. The tours are free and will be held at the Meetinghouse at the Historical Society of Wells and Ogunquit, 938 Post Road (Route 1) Wells.

There will be a special “Spooky Stories Tour” with lots of fun tales out of our local history featuring the Sea Serpent of Wells, the unusual tomb of Thomas Heard, the ghost ship Isidore, and the witch trial of our Meetinghouse’s 11th pastor, Reverend George Burroughs. All ages are invited to drop in anytime on those dates, for a guided tour of our meetinghouse and exhibits. Historical Society member Bill Farr generously donates his time and energy to share his love of history at the 1862 Meetinghouse - where there's a collection of artifacts from local families, fishermen, farms and businesses, all on exhibit telling the story of Wells and Ogunquit. The guided tours take 30-40 minutes and are free of charge. Donations are greatly appreciated. For more info email info@wohistory.org or call (207) 646-4775
