PORTSMOUTH — Join Historic New England and the New Hampshire Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for Pet Adoption Day at Rundlet-May House at 364 Middle St. from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 8.

The event is in celebration of James Rundlet May’s role in founding the N.H. SPCA in 1872. Meet adoptable animals, do an animal scavenger hunt in the museum, watch a dog agility demonstration, and try your hand at pet-related arts and crafts projects outside.
